Mental health is an essential part of overall physical health and satisfaction. The Black community suffers from an increased rate of mental health concerns, including anxiety and depression.
Yet therapy in the Black Community for years has been a topic of great debate. We by the numbers show an overwhelming increased need for therapy yet, we're still struggling to seek the help that we need.
During this session you'll hear from a panel of black male and female licensed therapists who will help us uncover the misconceptions around therapy. In addition, we'll address how to approach therapy in this new virtual space, identify resources, understand what it's like to be a black therapist and more importantly become advocates for therapy in the black community.
With a long term career in corporate health care leadership, combined with her life experiences, Wade set the stage for a perspective which is multifaceted and distinctive from the typical therapeutic experience. She doesn't consider therapy as a way to normalize people but rather a way to work with clients to find their desired outcomes. Some of her many focus areas include: life transisiontings, corporate environment challenges, LGBTQ+, and parenting.

As a black male operating from the campus of Indiana University in Bloomington, IN, he's developed a strong interest in exploring the identities of clients and client identity development, particularly for clients of underrepresented populations.

She specializes in working with children, adolescents and women across the age spectrum, families, and couples. Adoption and work with trauma are two of my primary focuses in my work. I am committed to working with culturally diverse individuals and families. She believes the process of therapy allows you to not have to do it alone.
